I was also looking fwd to seeing a sushi restaurant opening in Bournemouth (its been a long time coming). I loved the look of the space and I wasnt disappointed with the food. I was a little unsure on whether to sit and order or order at the counter but once speaking to the helpful staff I ordered at the counter and grabbed a bench with friends. Ive been back 3 times now and theyre improving everytime. Loved the gyoza dumplings and the california crabstick which was LUSH. Theyre improving with every visit so stick with it guys!

I have been here twice. The first time, they took 55 minutes to serve us two of their lunchtime special boxes! Within this time they managed to give away our order, then bring us the wrong food and leave us waiting for almost an hour.

I have returned today and ordered a lunchtime special bento box and it took a more respectable 20 minutes (although still slow) and they gave me the wrong food again! I couldnt even be bothered to complain as I didnt have another 40 minutes to waste waiting.

The food is actually delicious and they do make it all fresh, they just dont know how to run it properly. Once they get their act together, ditch the flappy front of house girl and start pre-making some decent bento boxes to take away from the shelves then it will be great. At present all you can buy off the shelf is a few random small boxes today all they had were cucumber maki not very exciting!

I was with 5 friends tonight and it only took 5 minutes to serve the food and we are very happy with the service. It was quick and the sushi taste delicious especially the yakisoba. I have noticed their fridge are full of sushi rolls, sashimi and bento boxes. They have more staff in the kitchen too.

    Hi

I was so excited to see there was a Sushi place in Bournemouth, Ive eaten sushi over the past few years and have to say this was the worst Sushi ive ever had. The sushi Ive made at home was better. They got our orders wrong twice, serving us the wrong food, the rice wasnt cooked properly and not sweetened properly and lastly they left clingfilm around my food. We both got our money back no problem, but I wouldnt go back. Disappointed as I really wanted there to be a great Sushit bar finally!

Weve already got a fab Japanese restaurant in Bournemouth, in Charminster, the Nippon Inn. I had lunch at Oishii and was really disappointed by the small portion sizes for how much it cost to eat there. I was excited to see a new Japanese place open closer to where I live but I think Ill just walk the extra and go to the Nippon in future.

I don’t know a single person that doesn’t love a good Chinese, or a good bargain for that matter and the Lotus Lounge appears to satisfy my hunger for both. I enter, pleasantly surprised by a modern, simple but chic interior, adorned with golden Chinese trinkets and splashes of colour. Continue Reading
